We love a good story, especially when we learn something new. Stories also give us the chance to remember that nothing happens on its own, and in telling stories, it allows us to share in our gratitude.
Just the other day someone asked me about our homemade products, which looking at it, does seem like quite a random collection. So let me tell you the story behind our
peanut butter – pickled onions – kimchi - granola
When we evolved our business from a deli to a café, having a kitchen allowed us to create our dishes linked to our deli’s locally sourced produce. In some cases, our dishes required ingredients that had to be made in-house because they simply weren’t easily available or easy to find. For example, when we opened our doors it was almost impossible to find 100% peanut butter in the shops with the exception of ordering online.
We also care about what we serve our guests and know our guests care about what they eat. For us, it was natural to make our own key ingredients in-house.
Over time, our guests would tell us how much they liked some of the ingredients used in our dishes and ta da…
…we listened and decided to make it possible for our guests to have these ingredients at home.
And just like our story about our wall of mugs, by sharing with you the story about our homemade products allows us to thank our incredibly supportive and inspiring community.
And because we consider ingredients to be really important, keep an eye out for the announcement of our next supper club bringing you a local farm-to-table evening.
