As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, what better time to kick off the first of Mila Lisbon’s Supper Club Series.
The first event this Saturday, 3 December will be hosted by James Abbas Nicholson - a chef from London who will be presenting an exploration into Persian culture through cuisine, music and art.
His food and hosting style is influenced by his mixed heritage of Iranian and European origin, so expect a warm welcome and a contemporary take on traditional Persian dishes.
Experience a multi course feast of flavours from classic Persian dishes including fragrant green herbs, saffron rice, warming spices and sweet and sour sauces. Flavours that can be found in dishes such as Fesenjoon, a dish rich with stewed roast walnuts and tangy pomegranate molasses, served with grilled duck.
In addition to vegetarian and vegan options, you can also choose to enjoy each dish with a natural wine pairing including Georgian wines as these would have been similar to those found in ancient Iran.
The evening will be accompanied with live music and a moment to address and invite discussions on the dramatic current events in Iran.
