Whether you are visiting Lisbon or living in Lisbon, it’s always nice to be able to find somewhere you can count on. It feels good to know a place where you can relax, have a tasty meal, recharge with a warm or cold drink, and enjoy talking to strangers or even your neighbours!
This all sounds wonderful, doesn’t it; we think so too. Which is why we asked ourselves the challenging question, does this sound like Mila’s?
In other words, why would you come to Mila’s when in Lisbon?
We believe we offer a little something for everyone, and came up with three reasons you can count on Mila’s, and one that’s a little something different.
1) Open every day
We are ready to serve our guests bright and early, every day fom 8:00. For the early risers on their way to work or doing the kid’s school run, grab what you need at our take-away window. And for those who enjoy a slightly slower morning tempo, come and take a seat on the terrace for breakfast. In fact, it’s the best time of the day to enjoy nature’s morning glow.
And speaking of having brunch in the morning light on our terrace…
2) Location
Mila’s is also located in one of Lisbon’s historical neighbourhoods, Santos-o-Velho, which also happens to be one of the oldest parts of the city. Although Santos may not be in the city centre, it’s actually perfectly positioned with only a 10-minute walking distance from Lapa, Cais do Sodre, and Bairro Alto, making it a great location to start your day. It’s also known as the Design District of Lisbon.
Away from the bustle of the city centre, located in a truly neighbourly area, there is no better place to feel like a local or become one of our locals.
3) Food and drink
With so much choice available in the neighbourhood, our goal is to provide our guests with a place they can count on to have tasty dishes and drinks, leaving you with an experience of good old-fashioned satisfaction. What’s important for us is to offer a little something for everyone. Whether you need options that are free from gluten and lactose, as well as vegan, we’ve got it. This makes Mila’s a great location when you’re with a group.
We are proud of the coffee we serve, using beans roasted by wood fire from the local coffee roasting family-run business, Flor da Silva.
Don’t like coffee or drink caffeine, no worries, we’ve also have fresh house juices and smoothies.
And…business supporting neighbours
No matter who you are, a tourist or a neighbour, we believe in finding ways to support each other. Our belief in offering a little something for everyone is also in the way we share our space. We enjoy being able to help people make dreams come true, whether it is to organise a supper club or hold an art exhibition. We like to offer the opportunity to bring people together. Curious as to what this looks like? Come down on 30 September as we host the Lisbon-based creatives @mairedadillustrates and @litulla Sketch & Swap! event.
